The bathroom smelled faintly of drain. Nobody could name it exactly. Everybody noticed.

Floor drains are a one-way door that doesn't quite close — smell comes up, the odd insect comes with it, and there's rarely a good way to seal it without blocking the water from going down when it needs to. So the smell just becomes part of the bathroom, background and faintly unpleasant.

This one seals without blocking. Thick silicone, flexible enough to let water through and firm enough to stop odour and insects coming back up, weighted so it won't shift or float — 12cm, 15cm, or 20cm, whichever the drain actually needs. A 30° handle lifts it out in seconds for cleaning.
